We organized the annual Centraide march to launch the annual corporate campaign. This initiative aims to mobilize participating companies and organizations with an event that raises awareness for Centraide.
Where does the name “March of the Umbrellas” come from?
The name refers to Centraide’s function as an umbrella organization function. Additionally, the weather played a key role in the naming of the event, as over the years it often rained during the march.
A march against indifference
Around noon, organizations and businesses depart from Place du Canada and head towards Place des Festivals. Once at their destination, the group discovers an installation and attends a musical performance. The activity concludes with a speech by the President of Centraide.
Since 2018, this unifying event has aimed to engage participating companies in the annual donation campaign and remind us of the importance of the organization in Montreal’s landscape.
